A newly appointed Managing Director, with a strong profile and quite a few personal issues to keep an eye on. How can you develop and apply core competences such as vision, strategy, communication, stress management in a demanding, challenging and ambiguous role? How can you get demotivated so that you can keep your hands off operational activities? No more than a semester to accompany a fullfledged manager to face his new challenges. The coachee undertook a severe and franc self-assessment that enabled him to underline critical areas to work on. Task delegation, communication and team building ended up as three capabilities that needed attention. And a chemistry of more trust and cooperation among first line managers was the by-product at the end of the established roadmap.
